Marie Splees Zawtocki has practiced law in Arizona since 1986. Zawtocki Law Offices, PLLC, was established in 2003 with her husband and law partner Rich Zawtocki. Marie focuses her practice on family law representation and mediation, guardianships, and domestic violence. She is also trained in Collaborative Law Practice for family court matters.

Marie is an active member of the State Bar of Arizona (Family Law Section), the Maricopa County Bar Association (MCBA), the Modest Means Project, Volunteer Lawyer’s Programs, and the Arizona Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AzAFCC); and Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators (MCAFM). She has previously served as a Judge Pro Tem for Maricopa County Superior Court.

In 1986, Ms. Zawtocki graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law. Her undergraduate degree in American Studies is from the Fairfield University in Connecticut. Her law experience includes Community Legal Services where she worked on cases and issues in public benefits, disability, domestic violence, landlord/tenant, and family law. She also worked for CODAMA on housing and mental health issues. She assisted the Superior Court of Maricopa County in the establishment and expansion of the Self Service Center. Prior to admittance to the Bar, she worked for Wright Patterson A.F.B. legal department in Ohio and clerked for the DOJ Immigration Court in Newark, New Jersey.

Marie has been married to Rich Zawtocki since 1986. They live in the East Valley. She has current and past affiliations and service with Chandler Center for the Arts, Seton Catholic High School’s Fine Arts Association, Arizona Cactus Pine Girl Scout Council, Grand Canyon Boy Scouts Council, Catechesis of the Good Shepard, several of the East Valley Catholic parishes, and the sport and community activities of her grandchildren. She is an advocate for the rights of children, especially regarding foster care, adoption, education, disability, and domestic violence.
